The Pink City That Lives in My Heart
There are cities you visit and then there are cities that become a part of you. Jaipur is one such city. Whenever someone asks me about my favourite place in India, my mind instantly travels to a city painted in shades of pink, adorned with magnificent palaces, bustling bazaars, timeless traditions and stories that seem to echo from every stone wall. Jaipur is not just a destination – it is an experience, a living museum and a celebration of India’s glorious heritage.
Fondly known as the Pink City, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and one of the most captivating cities in the country. It effortlessly blends royal grandeur with modern vibrancy, creating an atmosphere that leaves every visitor enchanted.
For me, Jaipur is where history comes alive, culture dances through the streets and every corner offers a new discovery.

Jaipur’s story began in 1727 when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II established the city. What makes Jaipur particularly remarkable is that it was one of India’s earliest planned cities.
Designed with remarkable foresight and architectural precision, Jaipur was laid out according to principles of urban planning that were far ahead of their time. Wide avenues, organized marketplaces and carefully structured neighbourhoods reflected a vision of progress while preserving cultural traditions.
In 1876, the city was painted pink to welcome the Prince of Wales and the colour has since become synonymous with Jaipur’s identity. Today, those pink-hued facades create an unforgettable visual charm that attracts visitors from around the world.

The ideal time to explore Jaipur is between October and March. During these months, pleasant weather makes sightseeing comfortable and allows visitors to fully enjoy the city’s outdoor attractions, cultural events and heritage experiences.
Winter mornings, golden sunsets and cool evenings add a special charm to the Pink City.
